ISIEP 2024 is an initiative seminar to support research updates and disseminate the knowledge of Islam and Islamic education with the theme: “Sustainable Development Based on Local Wisdom: A Foundation for Religious Moderation in Global Peace and Security”. Thus, the theme will accommodate the development of a broader scientific discourse and is expected to produce new findings or innovations in solving issues related to the interests of society that are currently developing. This theme was formulated from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) programs compiled by the United Nations (UN), which have 17 sustainable development goals to improve the welfare of people around the world. Derived from the 17 SDGs concept, there are goals related to the theme and can be elaborated in further detail through the 4th ISIEP 2024 forum. Amongst the interrelated SDG goals which mostly relevant to this seminar’s objectives are education quality, peace, justice, and strong institutions. It is expected that through the “sustainable development based on local wisdom as a foundation for religious moderation in global peace and security” theme, the stakeholders can prepare high-quality students, graduates, and society for elevating the quality of global peace and security which regards to local wisdom of each country around the world. Harnessing local wisdom for education and religious moderation is an essential effort that must be considered by various groups, especially the respective government to create a better community life concerning global peace and security as the ultimate target.
